Day Two of Official Unemployment
What am I doing? How am I dealing with impending bill struggles?
Well at the moment I’m sitting in a low budget (but lovely) Days Inn in the beautiful city of Albuquerque. My kids are watching Daniel Tiger while my husband’s catching up on whatever YouTube videos he loves to watch. We’ve got about an hour to kill before we start working with Postmates and Uber Eats. There wasn’t a lot of extra funds for this trip, so we do delivery services to make up gas, food, and lodging money.
So, to answer your question, at the moment I’m doing great! This is what I did the previous week that is starting to pay out in dividends now. As my prior place of employment has super strict rules regarding personal/professional relationships with parents of children in my classroom, I’ve been super limited in offering babysitting services. Over the past week as I’ve told parents it was my last week, I’ve been basically doing targeted marketing and as a result, am set up for at least three babysitting jobs for the week I get back, and it’s only Tuesday.
As far as extended plans go, I really don’t have many. Writing obviously, investing in the cryptocurrency and stock market buying and selling during the ups and downs, and babysitting here and there to cover gaps in what husband’s current employment can cover. Once…
