Is it bad I don’t have motivation to write right now?
It’s been a mind crushing exhausting week. My brain is exhausted, my body is wiped out, and I can barely stay awake. In times like this is it okay to cut down on what I’d planned on finishing or should I push through?
In one word: YES. You aren’t always going to feel motivated, you are allowed time to recuperate from the week, especially if your job is especially mind tiring or really stressful. We are all allowed to take rest days and to let our minds relax. You can’t always push through.
Here are some ways to let yourself rest and recover:
Sleep:
Never underestimate the power of a short nap or going to bed earlier. Sleep allows the body to heal itself, your mind to process through the events that have happened, and for you to feel refreshed and ready to hit the ground running.
Soak in a hot (or warm) bath:
Throw some bath salt or a bath bomb in there too and let your cares be wiped away. There’s something infinitely refreshing about cleaning your body and letting the heat from the water relax your muscles. It also helps you sleep much better too.
Call a friend (or your mom or significant other):
Sometimes calling someone can help you process through a traumatic week of problems, stress, and your kids bugging you for every single little thing. I’ve called my parents many times after a…
